- 1 kg Potatoes
- 120 gr of ham
- 100 gr of Mozzarella cheese
- 50 gr + 30 gr Parmesan cheese
- 6 Butter curls
- Freshly ground pepper
- 2 Eggs
- Salt to taste.
- 100 gr Smoked cheese (provolone)
For the Pan: 1 nut Butter to grease, 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs.
Wash and boil the potatoes in salted water for 40 minutes (or for 20 with the pressure cooker), then let cool enough to peel them, and cut them into chunks. Preheat the oven to 180°. Pass the potatoes in a ricer or mash it with a potatoes’ masher, then pour the mixture into a large bowl and stir in the Parmesan cheese, eggs, salt and pepper: then mix all the ingredients with a wooden spoon.
Chop the ham, the mozzarella cheese and smoked cheese, then incorporate it into the mixture and mix everything well. Butter your Decla’s pan and sprinkle it with breadcrumbs , then put in the mixture and smooth it down with a spatula. Sprinkle the surface of gateau with the remaining Parmesan cheese and butter, then bake at 180° for the first 15 minutes; then bring the oven to 200° for the next 15 minutes.
Once cooked the baked gateaux, let cool for 10-15 minutes, then cut into portions and serve while still warm.
